Call Meetinq To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the Elk River City
Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice Mayor Holmgren.
Consider A.qenda
Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson added an item under other business
pertaining to the ice arena.
COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. COUNCILMEMBER
FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0.

District No. 15 IMcChesney Cabinets)
Consider Private Development contract Between the City of Elk River and
McChesney Cabinets for TIF No. 15
Loft Johnson indicated that no action was necessary for these items do to an error
in publishing the date of the public hearing. The error has been corrected and
the public hearing date is set for June 17, 1996.
Consider Appointment of Director of Economic Development
Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson indicated that the Economic .
Development Director Task Force has recommended that the Council appoint
Paul Steinman as the Director of Economic Development. Mr. Steinman
introduced himself and his wife to the City Council.
COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO HIRE PAUL STEINMAN AS THE DIRECTOR OF
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER BEGINNING JULY 1, 1976, AT
A BEGINNING SALARY OF ,$48,000 WITH AN ADJUSTMENT TO ,$49,000 AT SIX MONTHS
PENDING A SATISFACTORY EVALUATION AND WITH AN ADJUSTMENT TO 551,000 AT
12 MONTHS. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED 4-0.

Lori Johnson requested the Council to authorize the advertisement for bJds for the
purchase of a used ice plant skid.
COUNClLMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS FOR
A USED ICE PLANT SKID. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE
MOTION CARRIED 3-0-1. COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL ABSTAINED.

There being no further business, COUNClLMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ADJOURN.
COUNClLMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0.
