Council motion approving the attached special meeting notice.
Background/Discussion
Council called special joint meetings for 5:30 p.m., February 17 and March 16 in order to discuss the
Focus Area Study. It has come to staff s attention that the consultants believe these meetings will be
approximately two hours in length. Council also has regularly scheduled meetings on these same nights
scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
Staff would request the regularly scheduled meetings be rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. or immediately
following the joint special meeting (whichever is later).

I, Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor, hereby request two special meetings of the Elk River City
Council for Tuesday, February 17, 2009 and Monday, March 16, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. or
immediately following the joint City Council, EDA, and Planning Commission worksessions
(whichever is later), at Elk River City Hall, 13065 Orono Parkway, Elk River, Minnesota.
The purpose of the special meetings is to conduct regular business.
In accordance with State Statute, I hereby request the city clerk to post this notice at least
three days prior to the meeting dates. I further request the city clerk to notify each member
of the City Council of these meetings, in writing, at least one day before the meetings.
