Request authorization to proceed with engineering and specifications for Great Northern Trail.
Background/Discussion
The city received state and federal funding for the paving of the Great Northern Trail from CR 33 north
to the city limits. The estimated project cost is between $250,000 and $300,000. The construction costs
are fully funded by state and federal grants. The engineering, specifications, and construction
administration is estimated to cost $30,000. Fifty percent of engineering overhead is eligible for
reimbursement through the DNR Regional Trail Grant.
Financial Impact
$15,000 from the Park Improvement Fund.
Note: This project can be "shovel ready" in 90 days and has been listed as a potential stimulus project.
There is the potential it will have no budget impact.
