SUBJECT: Addition of Firefighters
The Elk River Fire Department has been in the process of adding
Firefighters due to the resignation of three past firefighter members. During
the past couple of months, we have advertised, screened, and interviewed
potential candidates for the position of paid on-call firefighter for the Elk
River Fire Department. With the process now complete, I am bringing to the
council, the names of three candidates to fill the position of paid on-call
Firefighter.
The Elk River Fire Department personnel committee has selected Richard
Briggs, Kevin Kleist, Richard "Dick" Johnson. The Elk River Fire
Department personnel committee believes we have three excellent Firefighter
candidates for the position of paid on-call Firefighter. With approval of the
City Council, and completion of the firefighter physicals, and stress tests, the
new candidates shall start with the Elk River Fire Department
approximately August 1, 1996.
Assistant Chief, Mike Trunnell, will be in attendance at the July 8 council
meeting to answer any questions in reference to the addition of three
Firefighter candidates for the Elk River Fire Department. I can not be in
attendance at the July 8 meeting as I will be in Emmitsburg, Maryland, at
the National Fire Academy attending a 2 week class in the Executive Fire
Officer Program. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call
