Sign a letter of support for the City of Rogers for the construction of the TH 10 Flyover project.
Background/Discussion
On Thursday, I received a call from the Rogers City Administrator and Public Works director regarding
the Highway 101 /94 westbound off-ramp, for which they are seeking funding. This is the project that
was highlighted in the Elk Giver Star Neavs on Wednesday. The City of Rogers has requested the Ciry of
Elk River's support in their request for stimulus funding from the Metro region through the MnDOT
share of funds. In other words, this is not the same pool of funds from which Elk River was competing
for its projects. Rogers and Elk River as you know are in different MnDOT districts.
Obviously improvements to Highway 101 /94 would benefit the Elk River residents who travels that
route frequently. Support of this project in no way takes away from any funding request for Elk River
projects.

To Whom It May Concern:
The City of Rogers has contacted our City asking for support for the construction of the TH 101
Flyover project. Presently, TH 101 is not able to adequately serve the transportation needs of this
developing area. This is due to the combination of local and regional traffic funneled through the
TH 101 /I-94 westbound off-ramp and TH 101 /South Diamond Lake Road intersections during the
evening peak period.
The proposed improvement is needed to relieve congestion and improve safety in the project area,
providing a significant regional benefit. The grade-separated TH 101 northbound ramp will
eliminate the need for northbound TH 101 regional traffic having to stop at existing traffic signals
located at the I-94 westbound ramps and at the South Diamond Lake Road intersection.
The funds presently allocated for this project are coming through the Metropolitan pool and will not
be in competition with projects funded through District 3 monies. We support the construction of
the proposed project as TH 101 is an important transportation corridor to our community and our
residents.
