Action Requested
The Mayor and Council are asked to adopt the attached resolution acknowledging the monetary donation
of $4,055.00 to the Elk River Police Reserves by Resources Recovery Technologies, LLC, pursuant to
Minnesota State Statute 465.03, for the purchase of upgraded CompuKid child identification equipment.
Background/Discussion
The Elk River Police Reserves received a $4,055.00 donation from Resource Recovery Technologies,
LLC with the intent that it be used to purchase upgraded CompuKid child identification software and
hardware. The Police Reserves have been actively involved in photographing, fingerprinting, and
gathering important child identification data at various community events for many years. This data
becomes crucial in the event a child is abducted or otherwise goes missing. This service is extremely
popular with parents throughout the community. To date data, which is retained by the parents, has been
collected on hundreds of children.
Financial Impact
A contribution in the amount of $4,055.00 was received.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $4,055.00 donation from Resource Recovery
Technologies, LLC with the intent it be used by the Elk River Police Reserves for the
purchase of upgraded CompuKid child identification software and hardware.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the City of Elk River,
by at least atwo-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Resource Recovery
Technologies, LLC for their donation.
Passed and adopted by the Ciry Council of the City of Elk River this 2"d day of March 2009.
