Librarian's Report and Old Business:
*The total cost of the fireplace is $17,811. The Board is concerned about any additional
charges for the gas line since it is being run during the winter. The
Board would also like to see any bills related to the project before they are paid.
-Update- After the meeting Mick received verification from Bill Maertz that gas line will
be in on budget because it was bid as n winter project
*The Board expressed their disappointment that the Ballard was never installed for the
Book Drop. They are also concerned that the previous bid for the Book Drop will be honored
now that the project has been delayed until spring.
New Business:
*Circulation Statistics: 2007 / 313,119 vs. 2008 / 340,492, take into consideration that
the Library was close for 3 weeks during the 2007 year.
*A motion and second was made to approve $175 per end panel, up to 6.
*A motion and second was made to approve installing a baby changing station in the
Children's bathroom.
*Next meeting we will discuss aprojector/laptop for the community room.
*2/9 interviews will be held for the new Board member.
*Nick Zerwas talked about the possibility of the Legislator allowing Counties and Cities to
reduce their Library Maintenance of Effort contributions. Cities and Counties currently
give Libraries as much money if not more than the year before. If this passes Counties
could go back to the 2007 budget. Here is a link Nick sent out with more information:
