SUBJECT: Independence Day Fireworks
This item, related to the Chamber of Commerce's decision to not hold its annual
Independence Day celebration at Lake Orono, was originally on the February worksession
agenda, but due to time constraints the Council asked that it be moved to the March
worksession. As you know, the 2009 EDA budget includes $6,000 for a contribution to the
Chamber for fireworks. The total cost of last year's fireworks display was approximately
$14,000. At the meeting Mayor Klinzing can give us an update on her conversations with
Otsego regarding a joint fireworks event.
