Stucco on Cinema Building

After the City Council meeting on July 8, 1996, I contacted Ms. VanValkenberg and
offered $3,300 as the city's share of the stucco project in lieu of the $5,700 that she had
requested. Her decision was to cancel the stucco project, but she still feels that the city
should provide the tapered wall cap on top of the city's fotmdation to seal the water out of
the Cinema building basement. This would cost approximately $900. I recommend that
the city hire a contractor to concrete this wall cap and to stucco the city's exposed
foundation so that the city's portion is done, even if the rest of the remaining wall looks
rather unsightly.
