Action Requested
The City Council is asked to consider a remodel project for Northbound Liquor store in the amount of
$24,360.
Background/Discussion
Northbound Liquor Store was built in 1997. Since that time, very little building repair and maintenance
costs have been associated with the building. The proposed remodel repairs are the original items from
when the store opened back in 1997. There have been approximately two million patrons to the store
over the past 11 years. The scope of the project includes remodeling the men's and women's restrooms,
new cash register cabinets and countertops, and replacing the file in the checkout area.
Dave Potvin, Liquor Store Manager, will be in attendance at the Council meeting to answer any questions
about the scope of the project.
Financial Impact
The project will be funded out of the Municipal Liquor Store enterprise fund. The budgeted amount was
$35,000. Quotes were obtained for the project and the final amount totaled $24,360.
Company Cost Project area
Lakes States Remodelers $8,215 rest rooms
Ennis Cabinets $10,518 register cabinets
Lefebvre's Carpet 5 627 flooring
Total Cost $24,360

For the rest rooms: The Chuba Company quoted $13,072.00
Lake States Remodelers quoted $8215.00
For the register cabinets: St. Cloud Refrigeration quoted $12,966.00
Ennis Cabinets quoted $10,518.00
For the flooring: Lefebvre's Carpet $5,627.00
I am recommending: Lake States Remodelers $8,215.00
Ennis Cabinets $10,518.00
Lefebvre's Carpet $5.627.00
Total $24,360.00
A bid was requested from B & B Carpet in Ramsey for the the portion of the
project. They were not able to quote us due to difficulty locating the exact
the used when the rest of the store was tiled. Lefebvre's Carpet installed the
the in 2006 and still has the the in stock.
