At the last commission meeting, staff was direct to recommend a dollar amount threshold for
which all purchases above that amount would be brought to the commission for approval.
Currently in Elk River Municipal Utilities' Purchase Policy 8.15, the threshold for non-budgeted
items is $10,000. Staff recommends using that same threshold for budgeted items purchased in
2009. Staff recommends re-evaluating the need for this threshold amount for budgeted items
again in 2010.
