Meeting was called to order at b:;s` by Chair, Vicki Sullivan. We
wel Gamed our new member . rlar v 4~.eifenheim. Minutes from the 1 ast
meeting were approved.
~sil'Is for .January were reviewed. Mick: mentioned the need to get
monthly updates from the City on our budget, and Vicki offerred to
call Lori to request these.
Security System still has not been checked. Vicki will call on this.
Updates ^n the e::pansion plans were erpl ained by I'lictt . She has
seen eamples of the lighting we will be U51nq at Lincoln and
Meadowvale--it will be a Gig improvement. The staff has given
EOS suggestions for the circulation desk area. EuS wilt be going

to the Elk: hives Planning i,ommission on February ~.:, and tot e
City Council in March. Mick: will go as the board representative
to the Planning Commis=ion. as Vicki will be out of town.
The board reviewed a dratt of the Annuaf Report which we will need
to present to the City Ca_rncil soon. Some suggestions were made and
Mick: will retire the report before we call the City to arrange a
^,re_ent~tl!]n tlme.
Two checl::s for a memorial fund gift in memory of Carl Benson have been
received. Marsha will write acknowledgements.
Mick; mentioned that the front walkways need to be shoveled better and
more often . Vick: i wi I 1 check: with the City on this .
'Jerrie presented information on the possibilities of library districts
far taring purposes. Enabling legislation has been passed and
discussions are under~•ra~,~ throughout the state. He also updated us
on automation of our system. The changeover for mast branches could
be complete by the end of 1 ~9.`_~, but Elk: River may be affected
by our e::pansion.
