Special Meeting
November 3,1993
A special meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at 6:30 p.m. at the Elk River Public Library
Present were Chair Vicki Sullivan, John Dietz, Debra Anderson, Don Robinson.
Also present Pat Klaers, City Administrator and Vern Oleksowicz, Great River Regional Library.
Absent: Marsha O'Brien
Discussion was on the process to be used to select an architect. The Qualification Based
Selection (QBS) process and Request for Proposal (RFP) were evaluated at length.
Vicki moved to submit RFP to architectural firms with a history of library experience. Seconded
by Don. Motion carried 4-0.
Vern will compile a list of architect firms in the metro area who have done library projects in the
past two years for the board's review.
Draft of RFP was discussed.
Mick brought up need to know where we stand with FF&E for expansion. Furniture and fixtures
will be needed within 3 years in order to make maximum use of expanded facility.
