Attached is a drawing reflecting the proposed Irving Avenue area water main project.
This project is being done in conjunction with the street rehabilitation project. The
original thought was to just replace the 4" water main on the 6t" St., 7`" St. and Gates
Ave. loop, but due to many old fire hydrants, the project was expanded to replace seven
additional hydrants. Considering St. Andrews Catholic Church facility expansion,
replacing the main on Irving Ave. between 4`" St. and St" St. was bid as an alternate.
The costs for the water main portion is as follows.
Water main & hydrants $174,392.50
Irving Ave. alternate for St. Andrews $31,571.OC
Engineering & inspection approximate $20,000.00
$225,963.50
2007 Budget allowance $100,000.00
I have contacted St. Andrews about cost sharing their portion of the work, but they
indicated no interest in cost sharing.
Staff recommends proceeding with this project with the additional funds coming from
reserves.
