A RESOLUTION OF
THE CITY OF ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES COMMISSION
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CENTRAL MINNESOTA MUNICIPAL
POWER AGENCY BROOKINGS-TWIN CITIES
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Municipal Utilities Cotnxnission (ERMU) has
determined that it is in the best interest of the LRMU and its rate payers to utilize
Che resources and services of the Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency
(CMMPA) to participate u1 the development and tnvesttnent in the acquisition,
construction, ownetslup, and operation of high voltage transmission of electrical
energy and capacity, negotiation of contracts, Planning, including transmission
needs studies, transmission arrangements, engineering, and technical assistance;
and
WHEREAS, the ERMU now wishes to foctnalize its relationship with CMMPA and
authorise the ERMLI's participation in the Brookings-"hwin Cities High Voltage
1~'ranstnission Line Project (Project).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1) That ERMU does hereby approve dte participation in the Project and the
financing thereof.
2) The CMMPA Brookings-Twat Cities Project Development Agreement is
therefore approved generally in the form presented at this meeting.
3) The LRMU Chair and General Manager are hereby authorized and directed ro
finaltze the Project Development Agreement and to execute such Project
Development Agreement for and on behalf of the ERMU.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission this 20°' day of
February 2007.
