Consider a request by Furniture and Things for a general planning permit to allow them to
set up tent in their parking for outdoor sales.

Overview
Furniture and Things is requesting a general planning permit to set up a tent in their parking
lot for outdoor sales. The size of the tent is about 40' X 60' and will be located near the
front entrance to the store. The tent will take up about 14 parking spaces. The tent will be up
until the middle of September. The tent has been up in the past and their have been no
reports of problems.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council approve the request for a general planning permit
to allow Furniture and Things to set up a tent in their parking lot with the following
conditions:
1. The tent and the area around the tent be maintained free of debris and kept in an
orderly condition.
2. The location of the tent be consistent with the submitted site plan.
3. The tent be removed within one week of the end of the sales period and the site be
returned to its previous condition.
