Enclosed is the packet for the Tuesday, March 14, 2006 commission meeting at 4:OOpm.
On February 15, 2006 Pat Hemza plead guilty to 6 counts of theft by swindle in exchange
for full restitution of $279,138.00 plus a year in the county jail. On April 10, 2006, she
will make full restitution and start her jail time.
Ron Black has informed us that the Lucile Briggs property directly east of our power
plant and directly south of Main Street is for sale. Attached is a map reflecting the area.
The appraised value is $80,500 for the land, and $147,200 for the building for a total of
$227,700. Due to the close proximity to the power plant, we should be interested in this
parcel. Mr. Black did not know the asking price. The blue area on the map indicates
FEMA flood fringe and flood way. No permanent structures are allowed in this area,
only storage.
On a final note, GRE decided it would be best if they purchased the land for the proposed
Waco Substation. They needed a much larger piece of property than we do. We would
then purchase what we need from GRE. GRE is very close to closing the deal, if not
already. completed.
