Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Parks and
Recreation Commission was called to order at 6:36 p.m. by Chair Nystrom.
2. Elk River Land Fill Use. Plan

in August.
3. Special Park Use Reduest -Elk River Arts Alliance
Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit shared that the Elk River Arts Alliance requested
the use of River's Edge Commons Park to host part of their Art Soup Arts Festival
in June of 2009. The park would be used to stage entertainment events and vendors
during the Art Soup Arts Festival.
Staff recommends no fees or deposits be charged for the use of the park however
the group would be responsible for any extra expenses incurred.
Commissioner Anderson asked if there should be concern for the landscaping in the
park.
Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz stated staff feels it will be a quality
program and that some of the concerts during the Riverfront Concerts Series
brought crowds as large as 1500 people.
