The Elk River Municipal Utilities has an NSF Policy in place that was passed
12/15/1998. The policy is outdated now and so needs to be revised. The big changes are
that we need to refer to all items returned for non-payment, and clarify the 15`'' as the
cutoff date that a penalty will be assessed.
Included are the original policy and the proposed revision for your review. Staff
recommends that the commission adopt the revised policy.

POLICY FOR RETURNED UN-PAID ITEMS
Any items given in payment for services that are returned by the bank marked unpaid
shall be imposed a $20.00 charge, plus assessed the penalty of 10% if not paid by the 15th
of the month.
