• The Parks and Recreation Department participated in the Elk River Business
Expo which was held at the Elk River High School on Sunday, March 29th. All of
our Department divisions were present including Recreation, Park Maintenance,
the Ice Arena, Pinewood Golf Course, the Library, and the Activity Center. The
Business Expo afforded a great opportunity to educate the community about the
extensive recreational offerings provided by the Parks and Recreation
Department.

• Currently 495 memberships have been paid for 2009 (306 Total for 2008)
• The fitness participants and pool players each have increased by over 100
participants this month.
• New Textile group as started meeting at Act Center 2 x per month
• Women's Group started meeting every other week
• Beading & Copper Jewelry Classes being offered 2 x in April

food items & $200 cash #123 seniors attended
April Special Program -Volunteer Appreciation
134 Volunteers (2008) and 3,170 hours served. This is the Senior and Activity Center
volunteers. The event will be on Tuesday, Apri128. This event is co-sponsored with
Guardian Angels Homes and Elk River Senior Dining. Their volunteer numbers are not
included in the above information.
