The 2005 electric budget contains a $150,000 item to rebuild the electric system in
acquisition area 15. Part of this project we are doing with our own crews. Installing the
U.G. conductors we generally subcontract. On May 4, 2005 we received bids for
installing 18,000 LF U.G. electrical conductors for this project. A bid tabulation is
attached for your review. A staff recommendation will be made at our commission
meeting.
In preparation for the upcoming construction season, we have awarded other budgeted
projects that are less than the $50,000 threshold when this commission must award the
project. They are as follows;
Rebuild Fresno St. & Concord St. north and south of Co. Rd. 33
12,400 LF @ $30,446
Convert 194`x' Ave. from 2400 V to 12.46 Kv
4670 LF @ $16,524
Rebuild Watson Street south of County Road 33
4055 LF @ $10,075
Rebuild Area 21 north of County Road 33 along city trail
6500 LF @ $6895
We are currently out for bids for Belmont Estates which entails
6280 LF of conductor installation
In an effort to keep up with the mounting work load, our operational people will start 9
hour days beginning May 9, 2005. This is normal for this time of year.
