Enclosed is the packet for Tuesday June 14, 200 commission meeting at 4:00 p.m.
We have receive a number of written thank you notes for the AC Trees and the moisture
meters that were recently given to our customers.
Previously we discussed the possibility of water and waste water utilities locating the
service line in public right of way for service lines installed after December 31, 2005.
This rule making did pass. Attached is a MMUA article explaining the history of this
rule making and where we go from here.
Due to schedule conflicts, I will not be able to attend the APPA National Conference in
California. MMUA's summer meeting is August 8-lOt~ at Breezy Point, Minnesota. I
will be attending unless this commission desires otherwise. I would also encourage this
commission to attend. Attached is the tentative agenda.

MINNESOTA MUNICIPAL
UT/CITIES ASSOCIATION
73RD ANNUAL
SUMMER MEETING
August 8-10, 2005
Breezy Point Resort
Breezy Point, Minnesota
Mark your calendars for August 8-10!
MMUA's 73rd Annual Summer Meeting will be
held at Breezy Point Resort in Breezy Point,
Minnesota. We will continue to follow the same
format as last year. The Golf Tournament will be
held on Monday afternoon before the start of the
meeting. You will have the option of coming in
early to play golf or come later in the day and join
us for the evening BBQ.
Please take time to review all the information in
this brochure. It contains everything you need to
register with MMUA and Breezy Point for the
meeting and the golf tournament. Please take spe-
cial note of all of the deadlines. It is important to
get your registrations sent in as soon as possible.
We will have programs scheduled all day on
Tuesday and during the morning on Wednesday.
This year we are starting off Tuesday morning
with a dynamic and inspirational speaker, airline
hijacking survivor and author Jackie Pflug. Jackie
spoke to us in 1990 and her powerful message
left us speechless. She has become anationally-
acclaimed speaker, and is the author of "Miles To
Go Before I Sleep". Now, 20 years after the
hijacking, Jackie comes to us again and tells us
how she survived this horrendous tragedy and the
lessons she learned from it. Please invite your
spouse to attend our opening session. Everyone
will want to hear her story.
FEATURED SPEAKERS INCLUDE MINNESOTA /ATTORNEY
GENERAL MIKE HATCH AND INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER
JACKIE PFLUG„
Also speaking on Tuesday morning is Mike Hatch,
Minnesota's Attorney General. As a supporter of
public power, Mr. Hatch has expressed a number
of concerns about the operation of Minnesota's
electric utilities, particularly relating to reliability
and consumer protection. You won't want to miss
what he has to say, so please join us for MMUA's
73rd Annual Summer Meeting at Breezy Point
Resort.
Specific questions or concerns regarding the
Breezy room accommodations or packages, golf
or MMUA registrations should be directed to
Bonnie at MMUA. Call 1-800-422-0119 (MN only)
or her direct dial number of 763-746-0707.
