At the Feb 24 Utilities Commission meeting, staff was directed to secure bids from
appropriate engineering firms to determine the structural integrity of the subject water
tower. Two companies, KLM Engineering, Inc (KLM), and Short Elliot Hendrickson,
Inc (SEH) were asked to submit proposals for same.
Both KLM and SEH are well respected engineering firms that do this type of work, and
both have done work for ERMU previously. KLM submitted a bid for $2,800 and SEH
submitted a bid for $2,300 and both can start testing yet this spring. I recommend ERMU
awazd the work to SEH.
