Out of twenty-four licensee's there was one failure by Wal-mart. A letter will be sent to the establishment explaining that: (1) they may request a hearing before the City Council, or (2) they need to submit the administrative penalty of $500 for afirst-time violation. This item will be placed on a future agenda if Wal-mart requests a hearing. Eric Balabon, Detective Elk River Police Department, Dale Olmschied, Detective Elk River Police Department, Mark Lees, Community Health Coordinator Sherburne County Public Health Department, and two under-aged youth checked twenty-four businesses that are licensed through the City of Elk River. Walmart, Inc. was the only business to have an underage sale. Enclosed you will find two fact sheets for the City of Elk River.
