SUBJECT: Retirement Recognition -Bruce West
As you know, Fire Chief Bruce West is retiring on Apri124, 2009, after serving as the City's
Fire Chief for the past 14'/z years. At Monday's meeting we will formally recognize Chief
West fox his many achievements and contributions to the City during his time as Fire Chief.
In addition to serving as Fire Chief, he also served as Emergency Management Director and
Safety Coordinator. In all of his capacities, he pushed his staff and the City to high
standards of professionalism, education, dedication, and service. Our community has
benefited immensely from Chief West's expertise and leadership; we are better for his service
and dedication.
Chief West will be in attendance at the meeting so that we can thank him for service and
wish him well in his new position with the Minnesota Department of Homeland Security
and Emergency Management.
