SUBJECT: Heritage Festival
After almost one year of planning, the Heritage Festival Committee
is excited to see that the City's first 150 year celebration will become
a reality on August 10 and 11.
There are several events planned for the weekend as you can see by
the attached schedule. Some of the main events will include the
Rendezvous at Handke Stadium, Historical Walking Tours, Street
Dance and parade.
If the event is successful, I believe the committee plans on this
becoming an annual event.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the
Heritage Festival.

Fur Trade Trivia:
An average trading post consisting of one trader, possibly a clerk and 4 to 6
voyageurs might produce 30 packs of fur during a season. A pack of fur averages
90 pounds and would include 600 muskrats or 90 otters or 400 racoons or 10
buffalo robes.
