On Tuesday, August 13, 1996 at 10:00 a.m., we open bids for the 1996 Seal Coat
Program, there were a total of two bidders. The following table list the bidder and the
total of their bid.

Pearson Brothers, Inc. has previously completed successfully the seal coating within the
City of Elk River. The bid is within the amount budgeted, therefore, we would
recommend award to Pearson Brothers, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder. Attached
is a draft resolution for the City Council's consideration which awards the project to
Pearson Brothers, Inc.
If you have any questions regarding this information, I will be available at your August
19, 1996, city council meeting.

A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF THE
SEAL COATING IMPROVEMENT OF 1996
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
pursuant to City Council direction, competitive bids were solicited and received for
the 1996 Seal Coating improvement as set forth in the bid tabulation attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and
the City Council has considered the amount of the bids and the responsibility of the
bidders and determined that Pearson Brothers, Inc. is the lowest responsible
bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
Minnesota:
The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the
City, such contract with Pearson Brothers, Inc. as is approved by the City Attorney for
the completion of the 1996 Seal Coating improvement according to the approved plans and
specifications.
The City Administrator is authorized and directed to forthwith return to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids upon execution of the contract above specified.
