Background
On April 13, 2009 the EDA participated in a work session for the update of the Economic
Development Strategic Plan for years 2009-2012. The work session was facilitated by Kent
Eklund of Cincinnatus, Inc. Additional participants included the City Council and HRA.
The group identified the following 2009-2012 priority issues:
• Industrial Development
• Redevelopment & Rehabilitation
• Marketing
• Transportation
Issues for Discussion
The group developed a series of preliminary action items, which were then incorporated into
the attached draft Plan by staff. For this meeting, staff requests the EDA's feedback on the
attached draft Plan and strategies for addressing the priority issues.
Next Steus
Following is a tabletable for review and adoption of the 2009-2012 Economic Development
Strategic Plan:
• May 11 EDA review & comment on Draft Plan
• June 1 HRA review & comment on Draft Plan
• June 8 EDA & City Council consider Final Plan
