The Council is asked to adopt the attached resolution acknowledging a donation from Greater Minnesota
Credit Union.
Background/Discussion
With this donation Greater Minnesota Credit Union (GMCU) is the exclusive sponsor of the Movies in
the Parks. In 2007 GMCU donated the giant inflatable movie screen. In 2008 GMCU donated a
commercial quality popcorn popper and supplies for providing free popcorn at the movie events. This
year GMCU has donated $2,500 to fund the license fees for the entire season of movies. This year the
highlight will be the 3-D version of Journey to the Center of the Earth with 3-D glasses provided to
moviegoers.

RESOLUTION #09-
RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of EIk River received a $2,500 donation from Greater Minnesota
Credit Union with the intent it be used by the Parks and Recreation Department for the
Movies in the Park programs; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
by at least atwo-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Greater Minnesota
Credit Union for their donation.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 18`" day of May 2009.
