Decertification of TIF District No. 13
Background
In September of 1995, the EDA and City Council approved Tax Increment
District No. 13 (TL Feeding). Although this district was never formerly
certified to the Sherburne County Auditor, it is necessary and appropriate at
this time to formerly decertify TIF District No. 13 by passing Resolution 96-
Action Requested
Staff is requesting a motion be passed to approve Resolution 96-
decertifying Tax Increment Financing District No. 13 in the City of Elk
River.

RESOLUTION 96-
BEING A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DECERTIFICATION OF
TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT NO. 13 IN THE CITY OF
ELK RIVER.
WHEREAS, in 1995, the City of Elk River ("the city") created its Tax
Increment Financing District No. 13 ("the district") within its Development
District No. 1; and
WHEREAS, the city desires by this resolution to cause the
decertification of the district after which all property taxes generated by
property within the district will be distributed in the same manner as all
other property taxes.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Elk River that the city's staff shall take such action as is necessary to
cause the County Auditor of Sherburne County to decertify the district as a
tax increment district and to no longer remit tax increment from the district
to the city.
