Schedule Public Hearing for Closure of
Mobile Home Park
As presented to the City Council at a previous meeting, the developer and
owner of Elk Terrace Mobile Home Court have presented the city with
notification to begin closure of the mobile home park. As part of this process,
the City will be responsible for conducting a public hearing meeting
regarding the closure of the park in accordance with Minnesota State
Statutes 327C.095. Assuming all of the notifications prepared by the
developer and mobile home park owner have been prepared in accordance
with the State Statues regarding the closure of mobile home park, staff will
schedule a public hearing for both the Planning Commission and City
Council to review this issue. It is anticipated that this will be presented to
the Planning Commission on October 22 and then forwarded to the City
Council on November 18. Staff will be working with the city attorney's office
on this matter to make sure ail procedures are properly followed.
Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council direct staff to schedule a public hearing
before the Planning Commission and City Council to discuss the issue of
closing Elk Terrace Mobil Home Park.
