Request for City Council to Initiate
Ordinance Amendment Regarding
Definitions for Commercial Kennels
and Private Kennels
Request
Staff is requesting that the City Council initiate an amendment to the zoning
code to amend the definition of kennel to include separate definitions for
commercial kennels and private kennels.
Background
In conjunction with a proposed amendment to Section 502 "Dogs, Cats and
Other Animals", staff would like to amend the definitions section of the zoning
code to include definitions of commercial and private kennels that are the same
as those proposed for Section 502. If this item is put forward, it will be placed on
the September 24, 1996 Planning Commission meeting for their review and
recommendation.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council initiate an amendment to the zoning
code to include definitions for commercial kennel and private kennel
