I just wanted to drop you a personal note and say thank you for allowing me to
ride with Officers Vita and Kiuntz to the NDOA meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. I also
wanted to mention that it was a very positive experience visiting with both officers
during the trip. They are certainly an asset to D.A.R.E. and deserve to be applauded
and recognized.

Dear Chief Zerwas:
I am currently appointed to the Sherburne County Economic
Development Alliance and had cause to attend our Board
Meeting at the Government Center in Elk River last Wednesday.
evening. I inadvertently locked my keys in the car. After
calling the Sheriff's Department, a police car was dispatched
from the City of Elk River to assist me. Sgt. Mordal and
Off. Erickson attempted to open my car to no avail. They
then transported me (10:00 p.m.) to the Holiday station so
that I could attempt to call a locksmith. No one in Elk
River wished to assist me at that time of night! I then
called my husband in St. Cloud to come and the officers took
me back to the Government Center's parking area to wait.
.,Both officers were congenial, helpful and helped to make a
very unpleasant experience bearable. Officer Erickson even
lent me $.50 for phone calls - repayment enclosed with a copy
of this letter to him.
You may be very proud of your officers and their helpful
natures.
