SUBJECT: Volunteer Recognition Program
A new program that the Parks and Recreation Department is implementing is the Volunteer
Recognition Program. At each monthly Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, a
volunteer of the month will be recognized for the time and effort they have contributed to
the Parks and Recreation Department. Then at the end of the year, a volunteer of the year
will be selected and recognized for their outstanding service.
The value that volunteers bring to the Elk River Parks and Recreation Department is
immeasurable. Because of volunteer efforts, we have facilities that provide high levels of
recreational opportunities to the community, and programs that bring positive benefits to
participants of all ages. Our volunteers allow our department to provide a higher level of
service to Elk River Residents than could be done without them. Due in great part to
volunteer energies, Elk River recreational facilities are known throughout the region for their
high quality. We are excited to offer a program that provides an opportunity to recognize
our volunteers.
