Currently Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (CMMPA), with the assistance R.W.
Beck, is conducting a study of ERMU's power supply needs as related to the Big Stone II Power
Plant Project. This study is covered under the CMMPA Associate Membership the Utilities are
entering into per Commission direction on May 12, 2009. Per CMMPA and R.W. Beck, this
study will be completed in time for presentation to the City Council on June 15, 2009. A joint
Council and Commission meeting would be required.
Contracts and the Letter of Intent specific to ERMU entering into this project have been passed
onto the City Attorney and will be reviewed with CMMPA and staff on June 11, 2009. This will
allow for questions about the contracts or letter to be address prior to the joint Council and
Commission meeting.
