One year extension of the final plat of Depot at Elk River Station.
Background/Discussion
The Depot at Elk River Station plat was approved on June 16, 2008. A statement that the plat approval
would expire in one year if the plat is not recorded was included in the conditions. The subdivision
ordinance does not impose a time limit on the recording of a final plat.
The Depot at Elk River Station is the formal platting of Outlot D of Elk River Station. This allows the
construction of the apartment building across Twin Lakes Parkway from the commuter rail station. The
apartment building was determined to be consistent with the original Planned Unit Development. The
apartment building also appears consistent with the 1715[ Focused Area Study the Council is considering.
The developer has indicated that the extension is necessary to finalize financing.
