SUBJECT: Effect of Comp Plan on Hunting Zones
in the City of Elk River
Chief Zerwas, City Planner Steve Ach and the City Attorney will be
available on Monday evening to discuss the current hunting
ordinance. As a result of the Comprehensive Plan, the southeastern
portion of the city has been rezoned to Rle. According to the City
Code, hunting is not allowed in the Rle zone. Evidently there are
areas in the southeastern area of the city that are conducive to
hunting.
Staff will be prepared to present a current hunting map for council
review. Staff will also be presenting suggestions as to ways to deal
with the no hunting restrictions in Rle zones during the current
hunting season.
