Action Requested
Approve the hiring of Nicholas Flaherty as Wastewater Operator effective Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at step B
of pay grade 6. Provided satisfactory performance, Mr. Flaherty would be eligible for any cost of living
adjustment approved for non-union employees on January 1, 2010.
Background/Discussion
Mr. Flaherty is a recent graduate of the Water Environment Technology program at St. Cloud Technical
College and performed his wastewater internship with the City. Mr. Flaherty applied for this position
when it was advertised and was interviewed along with three other candidates. Mr. Flaherty is prepared
to start work tomorrow.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
