Authorization to purchase John Deere 5095 tractor and attachments.
Background/Discussion
The 2009 budgeted fleet equipment list for the parks department included the purchase of a John Deere
tractor and associated attachments. Due to budget reductions, the fleet committee reduced the 2009
equipment list by more than $100,000; the tractor was not included in these reductions. This tractox will
replace a 1974 John Deere and a 1994 John Deere. The new tractor has the versatility to replace both of
the old tractors, as well as perform additional tasks.
At this time, parks maintenance is requesting authorization to purchase a John Deere 5095 Tractor from
Scharber and Sons of Rogers, Minnesota. Scharber and Sons has the State contract for this tractor.
