Action Requested
The Mayor and Council are asked to adopt the attached resolutions acknowledging the following
monetary donations pursuant to Minnesota State Statute X465.03 to be used for the purchase of squad
equipment:
^ $200 from Sandra Cronin
^ $1000 from Wal-Mart
Background/Discussion
The Elk River Police Department received a $200 donation from Sandra Cronin and a $1000 donation
from Wal-Mart with the intent that the money be used for the purchase of squad equipment.
Financial Impact
Total contributions in the amount of $1,200 were received.

RESOLUTION #09-
RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTION TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River received a $1000 donation from Wal-Mart with the
intent it be used by the Police Department for squad equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the Ciry of Elk River,
by at least atwo-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Wal-Mart for their
donation.
Passed and adopted by the City. Council of the Ciry of Elk River this 3`~ day of August 2009.
