Action Requested
The Mayor and Council are asked to adopt the attached resolution acknowledging the following monetary
donation pursuant to Minnesota State Statute X465.03 to be used for the purchase of rescue equipment:
^ $1000 from Wal-Mart
Background/Discussion
The Elk River Fire Department received a $1000 donation from Wal-Mart with the intent that the money
be used for the purchase of rescue equipment.
Financial Impact
Total contribution in the amount of $1000 was received.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTION TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River received a $1000 donation from Wal-Mart with the
intent it be used by the Fire Department for rescue equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the City of Elk River,
by at least atwo-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Wal-Mart for their
donation.
Passed and adopted by the Ciry Council of the Ciry of Elk River this 3`d day of August 2009.
