SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION ON CANDIDATE
FOR HOUSING HOUSING INSPECTOR
Bruce West, Cliff Skogstad and Stephen Rohlf were involved in interviewing
candidates for the Housing Inspector position. Seven of the twenty-five
candidates received an interview.
Staff is recommending the City hire James Davis for this position.
James comes highly recommended by his current supervisor at the City of
Shoreview. He graduated with honors in Building Inspection Technologies
from North Hennepin Community College and currently has his State of
Minnesota Building Official Limited Certification.
Staff further recommends James is hired at pay grade 12, step E. This
amounts to $13.77 an hour or $28,600 per year. We further recommend his
orientation period end June 30, 1997. If he successfully passes the
orientation period he would be given a step increase to step F in July of'97.
