~ on August ~ 7, 2009 the Ells River City Council adopted ~rdi~.ance 09-~~
amending Chapter 10, of the Elk River Code of Qrdinances which regulates
dangerous and potentially dangerous dogs; and
, the purpose of the ordinance is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of
citizens by incorporating the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section
347,50 to 347,565 in the City Code, placing restrictions on dangerous and
potentially dangerous dogs and their owners; and
, the ordinance outlines the process for declaring dangerous and potentially
dangerous dogs, licensing requirements to owners, restrictions that must be
followed, fees and expenses for covering the city's cost, due process hearing
rights, animal seizure, owner xeclaiini.ng an animal, destruction of certain
dogs, and penalties; and
a copy of the full text of the ordinance is available for inspection by any
person at the office of the Ells River City Clerk, ~ 3oG5 Orono Parl~way,
during regular business hours -- 5,00 a.~n, to 4.30 p.m,, Monday through
Friday; and
T L ,that the City Council, by at least four-fifths
vote, authorizes the publication of the title and summary of Ordira.ance 09- ~~
and that ordinance 09-shall become effective upon publication of this
resolution,
