Sergeant Jeffrey Moxdal will be in attendance to receive his 3o~year plaque from Mayor I~i.nzing and be
recognized by the Council for his 3o years of service to the City of El.l~ River.

Sergeant Moxdal began his career here with the Ells River Police Department ita 1978 when he was
appointed to the position of both Reserve officer and Part Time Police Officer. He was promoted to
full-time Police Officer on November 1,1983, on October 7,1955 he was promoted to the position of
Police Corporal. Jeff was promoted to his current position of Patrol Sergeant on January 1,1992.
Sergeant Moxdal has also been assigned dudes as a Field Training officer, Firearms Instructor, Defensive
Tactics Instructor and Coordinator, Field Training Officer and Field Training Unit Supervisor, and Police
Reserve Unit Coordinator. He is also responsible for the successful grant writing for over a decade that
has brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants for Safe and Sober activities in Sherburne
County.
Sergeant Moxdal has been awarded one departmental commendation, the Department Police Service
Award, Departmental Training Cadre Ribbon, two Department Life Saving Awards, Departmental Field
Training officer Ribbon, two Departmental Meritorious Service Awards, two Departmental Unit
Citations, and he is one of only two officers on the department to have been awarded the Departmental
Medal of Valor.
It is obvious in ~:eviewing his work here at the police department that Sergeant Moxdal has been a
valuable member o£ this agency for thirty years. He is cofnmended for his dedication to duty, and thanked
for his long term commitment to the citizens and community of Elk River.
