Mayor and Council:
I wanted the Council to be aware that the special assessments in Country Crossing Business Center are
again delinquent. The mount past due is $84,541.32; this amount increases each month as the interest
and penalties are recalculated. I have been in contact with the property owner numerous times reiterating
to him his obligation of remaining current with all assessment payments. In an earlier discussion he
indicated that, at the very latest, the assessments would be paid by November 15. That phone
conversation was followed up by letter so he has been put on notice that his bond will be pulled if the
assessments are not paid. To date payment has not been made. I have been working with Peter Beck on
this issue and anticipate that legal notice will be sent to Riverwoods Development, the owner, in the near
future indicating that their bond is being pulled.
