SUBJECT: 1995 Legislative Update

The 1995 legislative session was extended beyond its May 22, 1995 deadline. The
Governor called the legislature into special session and this special session end on Friday,
May 26. Consequently the League of Minnesota Cities has not been able to put together a
bulletin on the new laws that were passed by the legislature. This annual bulletin from the
League is now anticipated to be received on Monday June 5, 1995. If this is the case,
copies of this bulletin will be made for the City Council and we can have a brief
discussion on key legislative issues that were approved in 1995. Amore complete
discussion of the 1995 legislative session can than be held with the city council at its June
• 19, 1995 meeting.
