97-020 ORDORDINANCE NO. 97- 20 CITY OF ELK RIVER AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL MAP OF PROPOSED STREETS WITItlN THE CITY OF ELK RIVER The City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby ordain as follows: Findings of Fact. The City of Elk River Planning Commission, on February 15, 1996, adopted and recommended for approval by the Elk River City Council the City of Elk River Comprehensive Transportation Plan, dated November, 1995. The City of Elk River Planning Commission and City Council have adopted a Comprehensive Plan for the City of Elk River, dated December 18, 1995. Co The City Council of the City of Elk River adopted, in May, 1997, the East Elk River Urban Service Area Planning Study. The November, 1995 Transportation Plan, and the May, 1997 Planning Study, identify the need for a new collector street in the East Elk River Area from 1714 Avenue North to CSAH 12, and relocation of CSAH 13 to align with the new collector street. eo On October 6, 1997 at 6:00 p.m. the Elk River City Council, pursuant to duly published notice, held a public hearing on a proposed Official Map of the proposed new streets, at which time all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard. Section 2. Adoption of Map. The map which is attached hereto, and which is hereby made a part of this ordinance by reference, showing existing streets, proposed future streets, the area needed for widening existing streets, and the location of existing and future public streets within the City, is hereby adopted and designated as the Official Map of the portion of the City shown on the map. The proposed future streets described on such Official Map are as follows: Proposed construction of 1.25 miles of new high-density collector street from 171~ Avenue North to CSAH 12 and proposed relocation of 0.5 mile of CSAH 13 to align with the proposed collector street at CSAH 12. Section 3. Publication. The city clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance and map in accordance with law and to file a certified copy of this ordinance and map in the office of the Sherburne County recorder.
