Appoint Dave Halgren to the Ice Arena Commission
I have been advised by Dr. Flannery and by the attached Star News article, that the School
Board has recommended Dave Halgren to sit on the city Ice Arena Commission as the
school representative. Dave is a retired teacher and has been active in the Youth Soccer
Association. Dave was instrumental in working out the three-way agreement between the
city, school, and youth soccer, when the fields were improved at Meadowvale School and we
lost a soccer field at the Oak Ia, moll complex.
Dave will be replacing Jeff Gongoll as the School representative on the Ice Arena
Commission. The three-year ice arena term for Dave is scheduled to end on February 28,
2004
RecommeNdation
It is recommended that the City Council appoint Dave Halgren as the school representative
on the city Ice Arena Commission with the three-year term to end on February 28, 2004.

nominated Dave Halgren to 'sit on the
Elk River Ice Arena Commission as
school' district representative.
Halgren was a long-time science and
chemistry teacher ~n the school dis-
trict before retiring. He was 'the Elk
River High SChool hockey coach at one
time.
