Police Department Subject: street Dance
This memo is to inform the City Council that the Elk River Arts
Council has requested the closing of Jackson Avenue between Highway
10 and Main Street on July 30th, 1995, from 6:00 pm until 11:00
p.m.. They are planning a street dance on this date and plan on
having food and beverage vendors set up in the street during these
hours. They indicated that this may be an annual event, depending
on its success.
I don't have a problem with this, and John Houlton has indicated
that it isn't a problem with the businesses along Jackson Avenue as
they will be closed during the event hours.
I have discussed this with Phil Hals and we will be setting up
several 'road closed' signs on both ends of Jackson Avenue during
the dance. There is a small expense for the rental of these signs
($150) .
If you have any problems with this event, please advise.
