The city has $1,000 in its 1995 budget designated for the Community Theater. Box 191, Elk River, MN 55330 THE ELK RIVER COMMUNITY THEATRE IS A NON-PROFIT, VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO BRINGING THE RESIDENTS OF THE GREATER ELK RIVER AREA THE FINEST POSSIBLE THEATRE ARTS PRODUCTIONS. ALL ASPECTS OF THE THEATRE IS OPEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS. • THE THEATRE WAS DEDICATED TO PRA WE INCORPORATED OF BY-LAWS, TAX MEMBER BOARD OF STATEMENT. FORMED IN THE SUMMER OF 1975 BY A SMALL GROUP ~VIDING A LOCAL ORGANIZATION FOR THE ARTS. IN 1976 and OPERATE WITH A STATE FILED SET EXEMPTIONS, PAID MEMBERSHIP AND A TWELVE DIRECTORS. WE ALSO HAVE AN EQUAL ACCESS. OUR SEASON RUNS FROM .SEPTEMBER 1 OF ONE YEAR AND CLOSES ON AUGUST 31 OF THE FOLLOWING YEAR. THE SEASON GENERALLY CONSISTS OF A DRAMA, COMEDY, CHRISTMAS .PLAY AND A SUMMER MUSICAL. APPROXIMATELY 100 PERSONS ARE INVOLVED LN EACH PRODUCTION INCLUDING VOLUNTEERS AND PAID SPECIALISTS. COSTS USUALLY INCLUDE SCHOOL FACILITIES ( about $2,000 per production ) DIRECTOR, COSTUMER,SET DESIGNER, CHOREOGRAPHER j~1Ni~ ~~~~_~~ DIRECTOR. THE SCHOOL THEATRE SEATS ABOUT 275 PERSONS AND WE PLAY TO APPROXIMATELY 4,000 A SEASON. EACH PRODUCTION RUNS THREE WEEKENDS. We expect a profit from the production of "NUNSENSE II" but we will have a significant loss for the recent production of "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" We are currently in rehersal of the comedy "THE FOREIGNER" The budget for the current play is $7,000.
